Ramblers from across the Lincolnshire Area have been invited to join a “celebration stroll” to mark reaching the halfway stage of BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s WALK-A-MILLION feature.
.Area Secretary of the Lincolnshire Ramblers, Stuart Parker, said
“ Each week, the public and our local group members contact BBC Radio Lincolnshire to add their walk mileage to the total and gradually it’s getting towards the one million miles mark. ”
“ It’s a fun feature for the radio station to do as it gets people thinking about how easy it is to simply walk - it’s good for physical and mental health and the mileage soon mounts up. ”
The event is being held on Friday 9th February at GIBRALTAR POINT nature reserve near Skegness from 9am to noon for a 2½ mile stroll along the heritage trail and all are welcome to take part.
“ There’s even a chance to meet Melvyn Prior who will be presenting his morning programme live on-air from the walk and also Scott Dalton who bravely walked the Viking Way last November helped along the way by some of the Ramblers. ” Stuart added.
