Danelaw Way .

This is Brett Collier's last book. It is a 60 mile linear walk from Lincoln to Stamford.

The guidebook of the new route written by the late Brett Collier is in book shops price £5.95. Brett devised this new route since it had long been his wish to have an alternative to the southern half of the Viking Way which ends in Lincolnshire (Stamford) rather than outside (Oakham)A brief sketchmap of the route is shown elsewhere on this site.

Lindsey Loop Book.

This book is also by Brett Collier. The second edition, now on sale, includes the extra section from Donnington on Bain to Market Rasen. There have also been several alterations to the route. You can buy it from Miriam Smith on 01522 682479 at the special price of £4.95 plus postage cost.

Viking Way long distance path.

A 64 page guidebook, now out of print, was available describing the route in 13 sections, published by Lincolnshire Books in association with Lincolnshire County Council. The  guidebook is now no longer available from the County Council but can be downloaded from the website at"  For accomodation information go to the Visit Lincolnshire site(or any other county tourism sites).

How to join Ramblers.

  • Go to Ramblers main website and click the link 'Become a member'
  • This gives lots of information about membership fees and says something about the sorts of walks on offer.
  • Usually when people become members they become a member of  a Group local to where they live so that they are circulated with the Group's walk programme and other related material.
  • However, as a Rambler member you would be entitled to walk with any Group in the country.
  • Finally, remember that before you actually decide to join you are entitled to three free walks. This helps you to experience what is on offer particularly the grades of walks. 


Use Group Walk Finder to view upcoming walks.

  • View the future walks scheduled by each Lincolnshire Ramblers Group. To do this click on the drop down  menu item 'Group Walks' above. Mini map locations are given for each walk.
  • Alternatively, use the Calendar of Walks(right) to view all Group walks on specific days.
